KRET's new smart anesthesia device adapts to a patient's breathing and is compatible with MRI equipment.

At the Innoprom 2025 trade show in Yekaterinburg, the Radioelectronic Technologies Concern (KRET), part of Russia’s Rostec State Corporation, unveiled a prototype of the country’s first domestically developed anesthesia and respiratory device, dubbed Anestek. The system is designed to deliver inhalation anesthesia and artificial lung ventilation (ALV), automatically adjusting to the patient's breathing. Rostec's press service confirmed the announcement.

Anestek is equipped with a servo-driven tidal volume generator, an active waste gas removal system, and a heater for the recirculating airflow—features that enhance both patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.

The device is MRI-compatible, making it ideal for neurosurgery and other operations that require real-time imaging. The prototype has already passed factory testing, and clinical trials are expected to begin shortly. Mass production is planned for 2026.

KRET's innovation marks a major milestone in Russia’s push to localize production of medical equipment and introduce advanced technologies to its healthcare system.
