Russia to Use AI to Safeguard Genetic Health
Artificial intelligence will process genetic data in a nationwide study aimed at minimizing the impact of hereditary diseases through early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

A large-scale genetic research initiative is being launched in Russia, with AI set to handle the processing of massive datasets. The project will begin in Sakhalin Region in December 2025, focusing on studying the genetic characteristics of the population and identifying predispositions to various diseases.
Currently, authorities are selecting a contractor to conduct an in-depth analysis of genetic data using artificial intelligence.
The new methods are expected to improve the accuracy of research and the quality of medical care, particularly in developing individualized treatment plans. The project will also provide crucial insights for medical genetics.
