Russia Unveils AI-Powered All-Terrain Firefighting Vehicle

At the Technoprom-2025 forum in Novosibirsk, Russia showcased an AI-driven all-terrain vehicle designed to autonomously detect and extinguish wildfires in hard-to-reach areas.

At the international Technoprom-2025 forum in Novosibirsk, innovation in autonomous transport took center stage. The highlight was a firefighting all-terrain vehicle equipped with artificial intelligence, capable of independently spotting and extinguishing fires, according to Russian media.

The vehicle uses a neural network that analyzes conditions in real time. It identifies fire sources, selects the most effective suppression method, and operates without human involvement—a critical feature for remote and hazardous regions.

Another breakthrough came from the Tula Engineering School, which presented a modular platform. Its scaled-down prototype, resembling an anti-tank system, has already demonstrated potential applications in firefighting, agriculture, and defense. A full-scale version (measuring 2×3 meters) is expected by the end of the year. It will be able to transport up to 150 kilograms (330 pounds) of cargo, reach speeds of 20 km/h (12 mph), and adapt to different missions with interchangeable modules—such as tanks for firefighting agents.

Developers emphasize that these technologies reduce risks for emergency responders while increasing operational efficiency. Pilot tests are scheduled for 2026, with mass production potentially beginning within two years.
