Russia Unveils AI-Powered Assistant for Traditional Medicine

Researchers in Buryatia have created a digital assistant that mimics an Eastern healer, offering personalized advice on herbal teas, ointments, and supplements. The project will debut at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

Buryat State University named after Dorzhi Banzarov has developed an AI-powered assistant for doctors of traditional Eastern medicine. The system analyzes a patient’s condition and generates personalized recommendations. Like a real healer, it is skilled in medicinal herbs, designing herbal tea blends, natural ointments, and a range of dietary supplements.

The university will also showcase other projects at the forum, including a portable device for pulse diagnostics. In just a few minutes, its neural network can evaluate the condition of several organs and detect anomalies. Buryat researchers will further present new methods for tissue regeneration in surgery and anti-cancer therapy.

The Eastern Economic Forum, held annually in Vladivostok, focuses on boosting economic cooperation across the Asia-Pacific and discussing issues tied to Russia’s Far East. This year, the forum will take place from September 3 to 6 and bring together participants from 70 countries.
