Russia Unveils Its First AI-Powered Humanoid Robot
A new generation of Russian robotics debuts in Moscow — an autonomous humanoid capable of movement, manipulation, and natural conversation.

Russia is set to present its first AI-powered humanoid robot in Moscow, according to RIA Novosti. The project was developed by the ‘New Technology Coalition,’ a group uniting several Russian companies working at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and communication technologies.
Built to Think and Move
According to the developers, the humanoid can move, manipulate objects, and maintain conversations—all while operating fully autonomously. Its artificial intelligence was trained through interaction and feedback from the surrounding environment. To train and fine-tune the AI models, the team used a combination of proprietary servers in Moscow and rented computing capacity on domestic cloud platforms.
Communication as Core Intelligence
The research team placed particular emphasis on communication-focused AI—developing advanced microphone arrays and dialogue systems that enable the robot to recognize speech, initiate conversations, and respond with facial expressions and ‘empathetic’ behavior. This makes the humanoid capable of humanlike interaction, a key step toward intuitive collaboration between people and machines.
Toward a Russian Robotics Platform
Developers say the humanoid will serve as the foundation for a broader platform in anthropomorphic robotics—an area increasingly viewed as strategic for advancing automation, AI integration, and domestic technological independence.
