Russian Agroholding Embraces Smart Factory Tech with Domestic Software

A major Russian agro-industrial complex is digitizing its operations to improve accuracy, reliability, and transparency across the supply chain.

Russian agro-industrial giant Rusagro, in collaboration with digital solutions provider Tsifra Group, has launched a joint project to modernize its fat processing plant and grain elevator in the Saratov region. The companies plan to develop a unified digital production management system based on the ZIIoT platform and the MES Constructor toolkit.

The project will leverage Russian IT solutions to automate manufacturing oversight and resource tracking. According to Rusagro, the system is expected to deliver accurate, real-time data, streamline reporting, minimize human error, and reduce the risk of breakdowns and unplanned downtime. The company also highlighted the importance of end-to-end transparency, particularly given the plant’s complex logistics network. In the future, the platform will be scaled across Rusagro’s other production sites.

Tsifra Group noted that the partnership will not only address Rusagro’s immediate operational goals, but also help build a national MES (Manufacturing Execution System) tailored for the agricultural sector. The broader ambition is to drive a digital transformation across Russia’s agri-food industry using homegrown technologies.
