Russian Carriers Boost LTE Network Security With New Module

Mobile giant MTS has rolled out a security upgrade for private LTE networks, designed for corporations with the strictest data protection needs.

Russian telecom operator MTS introduced a new software module, MTS EPC IS, built to strengthen the security of private LTE networks. The tool was developed in collaboration with Protei Research and Development Center and is aimed at large enterprises that demand maximum information security.

The module integrates directly into network architecture, adding advanced auditing and monitoring features. It enforces stronger password policies, automatically terminates inactive sessions, and gives customers complete control over their traffic and security.

Vladimir Freinkman, marketing director at Protei, noted: “Our network core was originally designed to meet global security standards. The MTS module seamlessly complements this architecture. Joint testing confirmed full component compatibility and the readiness to deliver a complete, highly secure solution from a single source.”
