Russian Educators Trained to Use Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms

School principals and teachers in Udmurtia are learning how AI can automate routine tasks, from grading assignments to generating digital content.

In Russia’s Udmurt Republic, school and university educators received hands-on training with artificial intelligence tools during the August Conference of Education Leaders, themed “Strategy for the Development of Education: Opening New Horizons.”

Speakers showcased cutting-edge digital solutions and led workshops on creating AI-generated avatars, images, and videos using Kandinsky. Educators also tested automated grading through the web version of GigaChat and explored how AI-driven tools can analyze the performance of public institutions. The training was organized by Sber, one of Russia’s largest tech and finance companies.

Participants said AI opens new possibilities for teaching and dramatically simplifies their workload. By offloading repetitive tasks to neural networks, teachers can focus on the parts of education that matter most—mentoring, creativity, and direct engagement with students.
