Russian Factory to Deploy Robots for Sausage Production

A plant in Orenburg is building robotic food-processing systems with high localization and no foreign equivalents.

Robots in Russia are finding new roles in diverse industries—including food processing. A facility known as the Orenburg Automation and Robotics Plant has begun producing robotic systems for the meat-processing sector. Initially, it plans to manufacture up to 100 units per year.

These solutions are fully domestically developed and include Extremum delta robots as well as custom-built software. Many of the components are produced locally in the Orenburg region, with the overall localization level reaching 82%. The plant is located in a special economic zone and benefits from comprehensive state support.

Until recently, around 90% of meat-processing lines in Russia relied on imported equipment. Experts believe that integrating domestic robotic solutions will not only reduce dependency on foreign technology but also help Russia establish global leadership in food production automation.
