Russian firm Umnye Maschiny to build robots for factory and warehouse automation
The new high-tech manufacturing facility is expected to strengthen Russia’s position in industrial automation.

Umnye Maschiny (Smart Machines) has become a resident of the Zheleznogorsk priority development area and has launched a large-scale project to produce robotic manipulators and warehouse automation systems. The equipment is intended to help enterprises streamline logistics and production chains, improving efficiency and operational reliability.
The investment project will be implemented in two stages. The first stage involves launching production of the UM-10 stationary robotic manipulator. In the second stage, the company plans to expand production capacity and infrastructure to manufacture more advanced models, the UM-20 and UM-50. These robots are designed for tasks that require a high level of precision and reliability.
Focused on industrial demand
The project stands out for its focus on the specific needs of domestic industry. The robots under development are intended to address practical challenges linked to digital transformation, cutting costs and reducing the impact of human error in critical operations.
If successfully implemented, the project could strengthen the position of Russian technologies in the global industrial automation market.
