Residents of countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America can now register in the messenger MAX.

Expanding registration access allows users from dozens of countries to send messages and make calls through the Russian app. To create an account, users install the application, select their country, enter a phone number and confirm it with an SMS code.

A Tool for International Communication

The application works with SIM cards from mobile operators in different parts of the world. Among the supported countries are Vietnam, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Cuba, Iraq and Venezuela. After registration, users can communicate with one another if they mutually add phone numbers to their contact lists. This rule was introduced as an additional security measure.

MAXimum Protection

The app’s settings include tools designed to protect user accounts. Users can enable two-factor authentication, activate “Safe Mode” or configure “Family Protection.” These features are available in the “Security” section of the profile settings.

Expanding Beyond Russia

Expanding the geographic reach of the service marks the next stage in its development. In November last year, users in seven CIS countries gained access to calls and messaging in MAX, in addition to Russia and Belarus.

The platform ecosystem also includes business services in the form of mini-applications and chatbots that help users complete everyday tasks directly inside the messenger. MAX is listed in Russia’s national software registry and is available in mobile, desktop and web versions. The platform was originally positioned as a national messenger and a digital services platform. The app includes chats, audio and video calls, voice messages, large file transfers and money transfers. Information channels are also available in test mode. The messenger has now expanded far beyond Russia, the CIS and even Eurasia.

According to the developers, by the end of January the service had registered 89 million users.
