Russian Railways' Quantum Backbone Network Earns FSTEK Certification
The network has been certified as meeting all security requirements for Class II protected information systems.

Russian Railways' quantum backbone network has successfully completed certification by FSTEK (Federal Service for Technical and Export Control). The certificate confirms that the network complies with all requirements for Class II protected information systems. It also enables Russian Railways to offer quantum communication services to external customers. Key sectors expected to adopt the technology include finance, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and other industries.
Alexander Shoitov, Russia's deputy minister of digital development, said the quantum network is being developed as part of the Ekonomika dannykh (Data Economy national project). One of the project's current priorities is expanding the use of quantum technologies across multiple sectors of the economy.
