Russian Students Develop Radiology Simulator to Train Future Doctors

A student team from Moscow has created an educational simulator to improve radiology diagnostics using CT and MRI images—no expensive equipment required.

A team of students from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Moscow Technological University has developed a training simulator for aspiring radiologists. Named Radiologist, the software is designed to enhance the diagnostic skills of medical professionals working with MRI and CT scans, TASS reports, citing the university’s press service.

The program operates as a gamified simulator, teaching users how to identify abnormalities in medical images. Even at the first level, trainees are introduced to brain pathology recognition.

According to project co-developer Anna Veselova, the simulator does not require expensive hardware or real patient participation. The interactive format helps students master complex material more effectively and may ultimately contribute to saving lives by producing better-trained professionals.
