Russian Universities Train IT Talent Using Industry-Grade Tools

IT holding company T1 has deployed its technology platforms at 30 Russian universities, where they are now used by 15,000 students and faculty members. The partnership aims to narrow the gap between academic instruction and the practical demands of the IT industry.

"Today, the key challenge for businesses, universities, and government is to create stronger links between academic theory and real-world practice in IT education. We see that this approach helps students develop professional skills more quickly and gain a better understanding of how the industry operates. Bringing our technologies into the educational process helps prepare specialists at the middle level and above while they are still studying," said T1 Deputy CEO for Human Resources Ekaterina Kolesnikova.

The holding company's university partners include Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Aviation Institute, the Bonch-Bruevich Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, and Ural Federal University. Students work with Sfera (software development platform), Sayboks (AI model development system), Taumeriks (engineering platform), and DION, the same tools used in commercial IT projects. T1 experts also train university instructors to work with these platforms.
