Russian Waste Management Firms Embrace Digital Workflow

A major environmental operator in Russia is going paperless, improving data transparency and automating trash logistics.

Russia’s Nevsky Environmental Operator has announced a transition to fully digital document management. The company signed an agreement with software firm SKB Kontur to enhance transparency and data reliability in the handling of municipal waste. The switch to a digital system will eliminate paper records, automate waste transport tracking, improve garbage truck weighing accuracy, and streamline logistics.

Alexander Vasilyev, Deputy General Director for IT and Cybersecurity at Nevsky Environmental Operator, emphasized that the move will significantly improve the quality of environmental oversight.

Elena Andreeva, Head of the Northwestern Macro-Regional Center at SKB Kontur, stated that the joint initiative aims to create a clear and user-friendly system for all stakeholders in the waste management market. Eventually, the system may be integrated with federal digital platforms, enabling unified oversight of waste circulation across Russia.
