Russians Turn to AI to Cut Travel Costs

Nearly 90 percent of Russian mobile subscribers say AI can help them save money on trips, according to a new survey. Travelers see machine intelligence as a digital companion that not only finds cheap tickets but also plans entertainment.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a staple of how Russians travel. A nationwide study commissioned by a major mobile operator found that almost 90 percent of its customers believe neural networks can lower trip expenses, Russian outlet Moskovsky Komsomolets reports.

The biggest draw, respondents said, is AI’s ability to hunt down cheaper flights and hotel rooms. Another 87 percent are convinced the technology can also provide the best solutions in emergencies, whether that means rebooking or finding alternatives on the fly.

AI is not just saving money. It is shaping leisure itself. Roughly 93 percent of participants said machine learning tools help them discover entertainment options during vacations. Among the most common uses: curating personalized event calendars, generating custom music playlists, suggesting ideas for hangouts with friends, and planning outdoor trips.

Frequent use is already the norm. Nearly half of those surveyed said they turn to AI assistants every single day.

For many, neural networks are already saving time, money, and energy. But the survey points to a bigger shift: in the near future, AI may become a true “digital travel buddy,” guiding users from picking a route to chasing new experiences.
