Russia’s “Digital Courier” for Secure Data Transfer Gets Major Upgrade

Samara-based Filestone has rolled out a new version of its secure file transfer platform, strengthening cybersecurity for closed corporate networks.

The Russian information security company Filestone has announced the release of Filestone MFT 2.5, an updated platform for secure file exchange. The software has been added to the Russian Register of Domestic Software and represents a localized adaptation of open-source solutions.

Among the key improvements are support for branch networks and the ability to load domains into the address book, simplifying access control management in large organizations. The update also introduces digital signature features for registries, flexible customization of event log columns, and advanced request sorting.

The system’s main function is to provide a secure channel for sending and receiving data while operating in complete isolation from external infrastructure. Files are never stored in cloud environments, and no public links are generated. Once transmission is completed, all data is irreversibly deleted.

By addressing the most critical cybersecurity risks — from human error and industrial espionage to data theft — Filestone MFT 2.5 helps organizations protect their confidential information. Developed with grant support from the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations, the platform delivers a reliable digital toolset for secure communication and document exchange.
