Russia’s Heaviest Material Handler Gets Intelligent Safety System
A domestically developed safety system has been installed on Russia’s largest material handler, designed to prevent incidents during operation.

Engineers upgraded the country’s largest material handler, developed by Tverskoy Ekskavator, equipping it with an intelligent safety system.
The upgrade marks another step in Russia’s import substitution push. Until recently, the machine relied on a foreign control system with a separate monitor and display unit. The new system integrates precise operating limits directly into the machine’s main interface through an added menu.
The domestically developed solution is designed to improve safety for operators, infrastructure, and equipment, particularly in confined environments. Operators can set customized limits for the working area, including a “virtual ceiling,” “virtual wall,” and load size constraints. Using sensors and proprietary software, the system automatically prevents accidents.
