Russia’s Procurement System Wins Top National Award for Digital Innovation
Russia has named Moscow’s Unified Automated Information System for Procurement (EAIST) the country’s best digital solution for public purchasing, marking a major milestone for a platform that has transformed municipal procurement over two decades.

A Two-Decade Digital Backbone for City Procurement
Moscow’s Unified Automated Information System for Procurement (EAIST) has been recognized as the best Russian digital solution for ensuring public procurement. The platform received the ComNews Awards in the “Best Solutions for the Digital Economy” category. The achievement was announced by Maria Bagreeva, Moscow’s Deputy Mayor and Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development.
EAIST has been operating for nearly 20 years and has evolved into a universal platform that digitizes all city procurement processes. Since 2025 alone, nearly six million contracts have been placed through EAIST. Today, the system serves around 3,000 public customers and more than 390,000 suppliers, with over 2,000 contracts signed daily.
Transparency and Real-Time Data Exchange
To support fast and transparent operations, EAIST exchanges data in real time with almost 50 federal and municipal information systems.
Processes are highly optimized. For example, 485 sets of standard documentation are available to speed up procedures and minimize errors.
A virtual assistant named AISTA, powered by artificial intelligence, helps users navigate and complete tasks. The entire system runs on Russian-made software, reinforcing technological independence and cybersecurity.
These solutions foster a more supportive business environment while ensuring that public spending remains transparent, traceable, and efficient.
