Russia’s Tax Agency Rolls Out AI-Driven Automation Across 120,000 Employees

The Russian Federal Tax Service is now powered by a domestic low-code platform designed to automate workflows using AI and GPT-based tools.

Russia’s Federal Tax Service has deployed a locally developed low-code automation platform created by Puzzle RPA. The system is built around artificial intelligence and enables the creation of software bots that handle routine administrative tasks like document processing, data collection, reconciliation, and report generation. It also includes a GPT module for working with unstructured data, understanding text queries, and auto-generating documents based on templates, according to a report by CNews.

The platform is designed to serve over 120,000 employees, each of whom can assign internal access rights. One of its key advantages is full autonomy—it’s officially listed in the Russian software registry and does not require an internet connection.

The government contract provides for a perpetual, unrestricted license, and the platform can be tailored specifically to the needs of the tax authority.

More broadly, Russian businesses increasingly rely on domestic software for secure, customized automation. From regional data repositories to AI-driven process delegation and industrial systems management, local platforms are shaping the digital infrastructure. In retail, for example, AI is being used to analyze market trends and forecast consumer behavior across major online marketplaces.
