Rutube Racks Up Billions of Views as It Expands Globally

Views of Rutube content by users outside Russia have topped two billion over the past year.

In 2025, Russian video platform Rutube recorded a sharp surge in views beyond Russia, signaling growing global interest in its content. The service’s analytics team said international audiences made a significant contribution to total views, driven in part by rising demand for localized content in multiple languages.

The US Among the Leaders

According to Rutube, Kazakhstan led foreign viewership with 443 million views from January to November 2025. That figure is 7.2 times higher than in the same period a year earlier. Belarus followed with 261 million views, up 3.5 times year on year, while the United States ranked third with 248 million views, a tenfold increase compared with last year. Other countries showing strong growth include Germany, the Netherlands, the Seychelles, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, and the UK.

Available Worldwide

Gazprom-Media Holding deputy CEO and head of digital assets Sergey Kosinsky said Rutube’s transformation is ongoing.

“Rutube’s transformation continues. The video service is available to viewers worldwide. We adapt content to local contexts, taking into account media-consumption trends in each country,” he said.

Kosinsky added that total views from outside Russia rose from 444,400 last year to 2.1 billion this year, largely thanks to videos created and published in local languages.

“We plan to continue strengthening our position in the international media market,” he said.

These figures are reinforced by broader platform metrics. Other reports show total Rutube views in the first 11 months of 2025 more than tripled year on year, surpassing 47.3 billion. Monthly audience numbers exceeded 80 million in the fall, while the number of channels on the platform more than doubled.

Growing Interest From Abroad

The rise in overseas viewership comes as Rutube expands its content library and attracts creators. The number of uploaded videos is approaching 430 million, and the platform now hosts more than 4.5 million channels, reflecting strong activity from both creators and viewers.

Overall, the results suggest that the Russian video platform is not only consolidating its position at home but is also drawing an international audience by adapting content to local interests and emphasizing a wide range of formats.
