Samara Region Set to Introduce Digital Twin of Plants
Developers are currently looking for agricultural businesses to use the new technology.

Samara Region is preparing to introduce Tsifrovoy dvoynik rasteniy (Digital Twin of Plants), an intelligent system developed by researchers at the Samara Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The system forecasts crop growth based on weather conditions and other factors, helping farmers make better production decisions.
The system operates continuously, even after planting is complete. It compares actual plant development with its forecasts and adjusts its calculations when necessary.
“Developing the Digital
Twin of Plants took five years. We are now offering it free of charge as a
software product to any farms and farmers interested in using it. The system
can be installed on a customer’s server or accessed remotely through a server
operated by the developers at the Samara Federal Research Center of the Russian
Academy of Sciences,” said Alexey Vasin, director of the center.
