Sheremetyevo to Scale Its AI Airport Management System Across Dozens of Airports
The move marks another step in the digital transformation of Russia’s air transportation sector.

Sheremetyevo Airport plans to expand its digital airport-management ecosystem to other aviation hubs across Russia. The rollout is expected to include Moscow’s Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports, as well as 26 regional airports operated by the Novaport holding company.
According to Sheremetyevo management, the company’s AI-driven management and process-forecasting system can generate savings of up to 1 billion rubles per year ($~13 million).
“At this point, these processes are already being replicated not only at Sheremetyevo, but also at Pulkovo and in Sochi. We are now close to signing agreements with Domodedovo and Vnukovo. We signed an agreement with Novaport – which includes 26 regional airports – at last year’s TsIPR conference, and the project is currently moving through the final stages of detailing and contract signing,” Sheremetyevo Deputy CEO for Information Technology Dmitry Ilyin said.
According to Ilyin, deployment of the new technologies could fundamentally transform the aviation-transportation industry through the use of artificial intelligence.
