SKADI Technologies, a student startup from Saint Petersburg Mining University, has unveiled a new device designed for mining and extraction industries. The team developed smart glasses equipped with a microdisplay, cameras, and a microphone. The device provides oil and gas specialists with sensor data, diagrams, instructions, and technical drawings in real time.

The glasses use mixed reality technology, overlaying digital elements onto physical objects. The system could significantly improve how industrial processes are managed.

“For example, an expert based in Moscow can remotely connect to the glasses of a specialist working at an Arctic field. Instead of explaining verbally which sensor to check, the expert can simply point to it directly on the visual feed from the glasses or highlight it using a cursor,” said Maksim Natchuk, founder of SKADI Technologies.

The glasses support control via gestures, voice commands, or eye movement.
