Study: How Many Russians Use AI at Work

Basic skills in interacting with neural networks are quickly becoming a standard expectation for most employers in Russia.

According to research by Level Group, 60% of Russian employers already expect staff to know how to work with artificial intelligence, and one in four professionals now use AI tools in their daily tasks.

TASS, citing results from a large-scale survey, reported that AI adoption has become a visible trend in corporate environments: 24% of employees in Russia are already using AI at work.

Employers are not only tracking this shift but also actively shaping demand for new skills. Most companies (60%) now expect personnel to demonstrate basic AI proficiency. The most sought-after skills include data analysis, prompt optimization, and creating visual content. One in five companies (23%) also expects specialists to automate coding and advertising campaigns with AI.

Additionally, 24% of employers said they will soon begin formally assessing employee AI competencies. Experts emphasize that such skills already give professionals a serious advantage in the job market. Within 2–3 years, AI proficiency is expected to shift from a competitive edge to a baseline requirement across nearly all sectors of the economy.
