Sveza's plywood mill in St. Petersburg has significantly strengthened employee safety by installing intelligent vehicle-to-pedestrian warning systems on its forklifts. The systems use sensor arrays to continuously monitor the surrounding area and automatically issue alerts when people approach moving vehicles.

The mill's engineers also developed another safety solution in-house. Safety LiDAR sensors have been installed on the traversing carriage of the large-format plywood splicing line. The sensors continuously scan the work area and automatically stop production whenever an obstacle is detected.

The company's next planned upgrades include an automatic energy isolation system designed to prevent equipment from being started accidentally during maintenance. The mill also plans to install GOBO projectors that create illuminated warning zones in areas where vehicles and personnel operate.
