Sveza SmartLine Replaces Imported Veneer Scanner at Industrial Plant
The installation was completed without shutting down production.

Sveza SmartLine has deployed its in-house dry veneer scanner at a major timber industry enterprise, replacing an aging European system with equipment the company says outperforms the imported alternative across key specifications.
“For us, this project was the first deployment of our scanner for an external customer, and it confirmed that the system is ready to operate across different manufacturing sites. The company received not just a replacement for foreign equipment, but a platform that can be quickly adapted to its own production needs,” said Lev Talashkin, head of the project office at Sveza SmartLine.
The new scanner automatically determines product grades and can detect up to 40 types of defects. The system delivers an accuracy rate of roughly 95%, according to the company. Delivery and deployment took about nine months, but the installation did not require production to stop. All installation work was synchronized with scheduled maintenance shutdowns to avoid interrupting operations.
