Upgraded Marketplace Is Set to Help Farmers Grow Their Businesses

Russia’s agricultural sector is getting a boost from an updated digital marketplace that aims to simplify operations, cut transaction costs, and give farmers end-to-end tools to run and scale their businesses.

A Marketplace Built for Farmers

The Svoe Fermerstvo (Your Farming) project was launched by Rosselkhozbank in 2020. Designed as a dedicated ecosystem for agribusiness, the platform supports digital transformation across the sector, lowers barriers to adopting new agtech solutions, and makes it easier for farmers to find both skilled labor and new sources of income.

Product sales are supported through a related marketplace called Svoe Rodnoe (Local Products). Taken together, the ecosystem focuses on practical digital tools that allow farmers to automate day-to-day processes, save resources, and grow their businesses without incurring additional overhead.

The platform now hosts more than 40 services, making it relevant for both large agricultural holdings and small family farms. These include recruitment tools, an AI-based seed selection service, and tele-veterinary support.

For entrepreneurs, the ecosystem also includes a dedicated B2B marketplace that helps farmers procure essential supplies. More than 7 million product listings from thousands of Russian manufacturers and suppliers are available on the platform. Buyers can search, compare, and order agricultural goods in just a few clicks, using filters by category, technical specifications, and delivery region.

Offerings range from seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection products to agricultural machinery, spare parts, agrochemicals, and animal feed.

Beyond production and procurement, the platform also enables farmers to diversify revenue streams. Through the ecosystem, agricultural producers can develop agritourism projects, inviting visitors to take part in farm tours, workshops, and food-focused travel experiences.

Users also gain access to a dedicated information services block. The platform hosts regular online sessions and live discussions with scientists and experts from leading agricultural research institutions, covering a wide range of agribusiness topics.

During a single season, farmers have to make dozens of key decisions. Yet those decisions are not always based on well-verified data and clear cause-and-effect relationships. Modern digital services developed specifically for the agro-industrial sector help automate most processes. As a result, yields increase, logistics improve, and the financial performance of farms rises. Ultimately, this leads to a more diverse and higher-quality food supply for consumers in our region. Digitalizing Transactions in Agribusiness

Further development of the Svoe Fermerstvo (Your Farming) platform will be carried out by Rosselkhozbank in a technology partnership with SKB Kontur, a Russian software group with long-standing experience in building digital solutions for businesses.

The core objective of the partnership is to expand digital document workflows for farmers. Eventually, the agreement will result in a secure and legally recognized digital environment to support transactions on the Svoe Fermerstvo (Your Farming) platform.

“SKB Kontur’s strategy is to create the most convenient and fully integrated environment for doing business,” said Mikhail Dobrovolsky, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SKB Kontur.

Farmers will be able to complete transactions entirely in digital form, from listing products to final settlement. This will be enabled through the integration of digital document workflows, the use of qualified digital signatures, and machine-readable powers of attorney.

All stages of a deal will take place within the digital platform. Producers will be able to track transactions from product listing and contract signing through to payment processing and logistics coordination.

Secure digital document workflows will ensure safe handling of invoices, contracts, and acceptance certificates between buyers and sellers. By reducing paperwork, transaction cycles are expected to become significantly faster.

The use of qualified digital signatures and machine-readable powers of attorney will further strengthen document security. At the same time, these tools will simplify the authorization process for company representatives involved in transactions.

Accelerating the Digital Transformation of Agriculture

Through the joint efforts of Rosselkhozbank and SKB Kontur, Russia’s agribusiness sector is set to gain a platform that supports fully digital transactions, from product placement to payment and logistics. This positions the project alongside advanced digital ecosystems already operating in sophisticated financial markets, such as TsFA HAB (part of the MTS ecosystem), which enables trading in digital financial assets.

As digital maturity increases, Svoe Fermerstvo (Your Farming) is evolving into a full-scale B2B digital environment for farmers. The shift toward digital transaction identification and digital document workflows is expected to raise farmers’ digital skills and accelerate the adoption of online services across the rural economy.

Given that Svoe Fermerstvo (Your Farming) has already been recognized in international innovation rankings, the platform could be scaled beyond Russia after further refinement, either expanding into CIS markets or integrating with local agricultural ecosystems.
