Volgodonsk Trains Wind Energy Workers Using VR
The technology allows trainees to hone all the key skills before moving on to real-world production.

Employees at the Volgodonsk branch of Rosatom Renewable Energy explained how virtual technologies help train specialists for high-tech industries. Students from the Volgodonsk Engineering and Technology Institute of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI had an opportunity to explore the latest advances in this field.
Atommash, an industrial facility in Volgodonsk, manufactures components for wind turbines. The plant uses a virtual reality (VR) training program to prepare its workforce. Employees use VR to learn how to assemble two key wind turbine components: the nacelle and the hub. In a virtual workshop, they can practice production tasks step by step and reinforce their skills before working with real equipment.
