Volgograd’s Orlyonok to Add VR Complex for Children With Health Conditions

The Orlyonok City Health Center for Children and Youth will equip a special space with a virtual reality system this season. The work is expected to be completed by the end of July.

The complex will consist of VR headsets and specialized software. With their help, children will be able to take part in career guidance activities and study chemistry, space exploration, electrical installation work and actions in emergency situations.

The pavilion will also be equipped with everything needed for psychological relief and corrective work: educational games, equipment for classes with children with hearing impairments, a sandbox, a light table, balance equipment and sensory trainers.

Orlyonok has been organizing inclusive sessions for young residents of Volgograd for seven years. Over the past three years, about 350 children with disabilities and health conditions have stayed at the camp, and this year the center plans to welcome 180 children with disabilities.

The institution also won another project competition — a pottery workshop will open at the camp next year.
