Aeroflot is deploying the Russian Kupol (Dome) information system in full-scale operations. Designed to automate aircraft maintenance and repair, the platform will replace AMOS, a foreign aircraft airworthiness management system. In several areas, the Russian system significantly outperforms its foreign counterparts.

The functionality built into Kupol is expected to significantly improve the airline’s operational efficiency. By automating and integrating production processes, the system can reduce the amount of scheduled downtime aircraft spend undergoing maintenance and shorten the time needed to fix malfunctions, allowing planes to return to service faster and operate scheduled flights.

Aeroflot says the move to the Russian system creates unlimited opportunities for further development. In the future, Kupol is expected to become a full-fledged industry platform with seamless integration for Russian airlines, manufacturers, leasing companies and aviation authorities.
