Russian Agribusiness Turns to Digital Tech with Rostelecom Solutions

On Russia’s southern farms, telecom giant Rostelecom is pushing a suite of digital tools—from crop tracking to satellite-guided tractors—that promise to modernize agriculture and cut costs.

Rostelecom has unveiled a range of digital solutions for agribusiness in southern Russia, aiming to boost efficiency and maximize economic returns. The offerings span crop management, livestock monitoring, and smart infrastructure.

Among the tools is a hardware-software complex designed to track grain harvest logistics. It reduces product losses and provides real-time updates on equipment performance. For poultry and pig farms, Rostelecom offers a production dispatch system integrated with climate-control equipment. The platform streams data online, archives it, and is capable of operating across hundreds of kilometers.

Livestock operations can monitor feed levels in silos, track herd numbers, and measure production. Crop growers can use “Agroanalytics,” a system covering the full cycle of farm management. Rostelecom has also developed the RusGIS geoinformation system, a satellite-based autonomous vehicle control system, local weather stations, a digital agronomist assistant, and other solutions. Together, these tools represent a homegrown digital ecosystem driving the transformation of Russian agriculture.
