Russia is betting on artificial intelligence as a foundation for technological breakthrough.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak opened the business day of the international conference “Journey into the World of Artificial Intelligence.” He stated that artificial intelligence technologies are becoming a key tool for achieving national development goals.
Speaking at the conference, Alexander Novak emphasized that the Russian economy is undergoing deep transformation.
Fundamental Technological Transformation
Alexander Novak highlighted specific areas where artificial intelligence is critically important: public administration, the fuel and energy sector, industry, small and medium-sized businesses, finance, and transport. According to him, the state continues to actively support the development of this field, as demonstrated by the updated National Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy. Its goal is to place Russia among the world leaders in creating and deploying AI.
The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed to the fundamental changes brought by these technologies.
Novak emphasized that reliable energy supply—essential for data centers—is a critical factor for the development of artificial intelligence.
