Alfa-Bank Cuts Risk Calculation Time Sixfold with T1 Technology
Alfa-Bank has deployed solutions developed by Russian IT holding company T1 to calculate risk-weighted assets (RWA) and consumer loan defaults, reducing processing time from six hours to less than one.

The solutions are based on T1's risk management platform, including an RWA calculator built for the Internal Ratings-Based (IRB) approach and a system for calculating consumer loan defaults. Deploying the domestic RWA calculator was intended to improve calculation reliability and ensure compliance with the requirements of the Bank of Russia.
Around 90% of the RWA calculation logic is implemented using a no-code approach, allowing analysts to adjust calculation parameters without involving software developers. The default calculation system supports three methodologies simultaneously and can recalculate default events over a period of up to 11 years.
Andrey Gulidin, T1's Deputy CEO for Dedicated Development Centers, said the project delivers high performance and could become a new benchmark for risk calculation.
