The first batch of Russian-grown bananas cultivated in AI-powered greenhouses in Sochi has been confirmed safe for consumption. Laboratory testing found no traces of pesticide residues or toxic elements in the fruit.

The project to grow subtropical crops in AI-controlled greenhouses began in August last year. The facilities use specialized systems that continuously monitor the microclimate and soil conditions. Many tasks are handled by video cameras equipped with machine vision technology, which track plant health and alert operators if pests appear. The bananas are grown using only organic fertilizers and without pesticides.

In May 2026, the first harvest from the AI greenhouses was sent for testing to the Novorossiysk branch of TsOK APK. According to the results, the bananas comply with the Customs Union technical regulation TR TS 021/2011 on food safety standards.
