Global Experts to Discuss the Future of Smart Cities in Moscow

On September 17, Moscow will host the “Cloud Cities” forum, where international experts will explore strategies for building more resilient, AI-powered urban infrastructure for the decades ahead.

The Moscow Department of Information Technology will showcase the city’s progress in deploying advanced technologies in housing and utilities at the international “Cloud Cities” forum. Experts from around the world will gather at Zaryadye Park to discuss long-term strategies for developing smart megacities, city officials announced.

Moscow, repeatedly recognized as a leader among BRICS smart cities, will present its latest projects. Each year, the city launches hundreds of digital initiatives aimed at improving residents’ quality of life. A key focus of the forum will be the role of artificial intelligence and digital twins in managing urban infrastructure—tools that can optimize services and anticipate problems before they occur.

The agenda also includes discussion of the WISE City concept, which defines future cities as welcoming, intelligent, sustainable, and efficient. Experts will assess how megacities can make deliberate choices about which technologies to adopt, ensuring that core services—including utilities—become more reliable and cost-effective.

By fostering global cooperation, the forum creates opportunities for innovation worldwide. Sharing expertise across countries will help design smarter, more livable cities for future generations, where technology plays a central role in everyday comfort, resilience and usefulness of utility systems.
