Gazprom Neft and Ufa State Petroleum Technological University have agreed on a cooperation program through 2030. Their joint work will focus on developing technologies and digital tools for autonomous oil fields, developing hard-to-recover reserves and improving oil recovery rates.

The partners will focus on developing digital twins, mathematical modeling and AI-based software tools for hydrocarbon exploration, resource-base forecasting, drilling and production operations. One of the key outcomes is expected to be the launch of an engineering platform that will enable autonomous asset management in the Arctic.

“The future of the oil and gas industry lies in increasingly intelligent and autonomous production systems. We have experience using digital twins, artificial intelligence and automated equipment in oil fields,” said Alexander Sitnikov, head of Gazprom Neft’s Research and Technology Center.
