AI Cuts the Time to Bring the Heroes of The Secret of Charovod’ya to Life From Three Years to Four Months
Soyuzmultfilm used artificial intelligence to create visual assets for its upcoming animated project Tayna Charovod’ya (The Secret of Charovod’ya), significantly shortening production time.
The project will adapt a series of books by author Yulia Ivanova. Artists first drew the characters and settings by hand, then used neural networks to bring those designs to life visually. Yuliana Slashcheva, chair of the board of directors at Soyuzmultfilm, spoke about the project at a press conference dedicated to the Neurofest 2026 festival and the AI Creative Awards.
Among these emerging roles, she named AI creative producer, AI artist, and AI algorithm specialist. The studio is also interested in bringing winners of the AI Creative Awards onto its projects.
