AI to Uncover Violators’ License Plates on Russian Roads
New technologies are expected to reduce error rates in monitoring heavy trucks.

Digital Primorye, a Russian technology company, has modernized weight-and-dimension control checkpoints on seven major highways in Primorsky Krai.
The new hardware and AI-powered software will help identify drivers who deliberately obscure their license plates. The upgrade is also expected to reduce error rates in monitoring heavy freight vehicles.
New Road Technologies
Earlier, IT-Russia reported that NtechLab, a technology partner of Rostec, is rolling out video analytics systems across Russian regions to recognize vehicle license plates on public roads.
The algorithms process live video feeds from cameras, identify license plates of civilian and special-purpose vehicles, and operate in real time, allowing authorities to quickly locate specific vehicles, including stolen cars or those that have fled accident scenes.
