ITGLOBAL.COM Launches New Data Protection Service to Counter Ransomware Attacks
The international cloud arm of Russian IT group ITG has introduced a new service designed to protect data and IT infrastructure against ransomware attacks that not only encrypt information but also deliberately destroy backup copies.

Minimizing Losses
The new service offers three protection scenarios: periodic replication to remote data centers, the creation of immutable backups, and hardware-level change blocking within storage systems. The core objective is to minimize financial losses and ensure business continuity, even in the event of a severe cyber incident.
The offering is particularly relevant given the persistently high level of ransomware activity in Russia, where attackers increasingly target backup repositories to make recovery more difficult. The service is positioned as a comprehensive solution for a wide range of organizations, from operators of critical infrastructure to medium-sized and large enterprises with complex IT environments.
The deployment of this solution carries broader implications. It strengthens the protection of critical data within Russian companies, improving their resilience to IT threats. At the same time, it reinforces the standing of Russian cybersecurity providers and raises the overall security level of corporate IT infrastructure. Given ITGLOBAL.COM’s international footprint, the service could also enhance the competitiveness of Russia’s cloud sector in global markets.

Focus on the CIS and the Middle East
In the domestic market, the new service significantly boosts the cyber resilience of mission-critical business processes, responding to rising demand driven by the growth of ransomware threats. It also improves the provider’s competitive position among other Russian players in cybersecurity and secure cloud storage.
The service is aimed primarily at medium-sized and large organizations handling critical data, including companies in finance, telecommunications, and industry, as well as government and regulated sectors where data integrity and availability are mandatory requirements.

From an export and international expansion perspective, ITGLOBAL.COM’s global network and overseas data centers allow the service to be offered to foreign customers seeking secure cloud solutions, particularly in the CIS and Middle Eastern markets. Over time, the service could be integrated with other cloud tools, including platforms for AI-driven services, while maintaining a high level of data protection. Partnership models with system integrators and service providers are also part of the roadmap.
Building on Existing Experience
In January 2025, ITGLOBAL.COM announced the launch of its “Secure Cloud” service in Belarus. The offering provides access to protected virtual infrastructure classified under security levels 3-bg, 3-spec, and 3-yul, enabling the hosting of information systems in compliance with Order No. 66 of the Belarusian Operational and Analytical Center, which governs technical and cryptographic information protection. A key feature of the service is the ability to deploy a secure IT infrastructure within one hour, saving at least six months typically required to build a compliant in-house environment.
In May 2025, ITGLOBAL.COM entered the Uzbek market and opened an office in Tashkent, rolling out a full portfolio of IT services for local customers. The move was driven by rapid growth in Uzbekistan’s IT sector. The company’s focus areas include cloud computing based on virtualization platforms, IT infrastructure system integration, and cybersecurity services.

More broadly, the expansion of secure cloud infrastructure offerings has become a market-wide trend among major providers and integrators. Cloud.ru, formerly known as SberCloud, is actively certifying and developing secure cloud platforms with advanced personal data protection. In March 2025, Cloud.ru launched a third availability zone for its Cloud.ru Evolution platform and certified it for the highest level of personal data security. In 2024, the Solar Group, positioning itself as an architect of comprehensive cybersecurity, introduced solutions to protect web resources for small and medium-sized businesses, along with services for detecting data leaks.
Rising Demand for the Service
The new ransomware protection service represents a logical extension of ITGLOBAL.COM’s portfolio in an environment of escalating cyber threats. It goes beyond traditional backup approaches by combining replication, immutable backups, and hardware-based protection mechanisms into a single, integrated solution.
The offering significantly strengthens ITGLOBAL.COM’s position in Russia’s secure cloud market and has clear potential for integration into the company’s international products. Over the next two years, demand for the service is expected to grow substantially within the corporate segment, particularly in industries where business continuity requirements are especially stringent.
