More Countries Embrace Russia’s AI Ethics Code

Thirty-three countries have now signed on to Russia’s AI ethics code, signaling a growing appetite for global standards in artificial intelligence.

An increasing number of countries are backing Russia’s Code of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence. As of early June 2025, 33 nations—including India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, and several African and Asian countries—have signed on. According to CNews, more than 900 companies have also joined the initiative.

The code outlines international standards for the development of AI technologies and emphasizes security, transparency, and human rights. Its developers aim to build a foundation for the safe, reliable, and responsible use of artificial intelligence.

Experts note that the growing number of signatories reflects a 'global demand for AI ethical standards.' Russia, they say, is positioning itself as a hub for thoughtful and sustainable digital development that puts people at the center. The code was developed by the Russian AI Alliance, which emphasizes that the document lays the groundwork for how AI should operate globally.
