Blazar Unveils New Version of Blazar NAC

In Russia, there are many enterprises with large branch networks. For these organizations, information security systems need to protect data comprehensively while allowing employees to work comfortably from anywhere in the country.
Adapting to Changes in Network Architecture
That is precisely what Blazar NAC 3.0, the latest version of the network access control system developed and continuously refined by Blazar, is designed to address. The new release specifically targets geographically distributed infrastructure.
The update is part of Blazar’s broader strategy to meet the needs of large enterprise customers. Blazar NAC 3.0 can now be deployed across geographically distributed infrastructure by creating a federation of independent, peer nodes. This approach allows organizations to accommodate the specific architecture of their networks and adapt as that architecture changes. It also creates the technological foundation for centralized network access management.
macOS Workstation Support Added
Another addition to Blazar NAC 3.0 is the ability to check whether equipment running macOS complies with an organization’s internal information security policies.
The system also introduces centralized collection of structured logs. Administrators can therefore work from a single point of oversight and quickly gather the data they need, accelerating analysis and incident investigations.
Location is now an additional criterion, allowing the system to consider where a user and device are connecting from as one factor in access decisions.
Steady Demand Is Assured
Blazar’s technology could find demand across a wide range of industries. Another important factor is that Blazar NAC is listed in the Unified Register of Russian Software maintained by Mintsifry (Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media). The entry was added in February 2025. The platform is classified as a tool for protecting information against unauthorized access. That expands its potential use in import-substitution projects, including at organizations subject to specific requirements for using Russian software.
“The checks it passed and its subsequent inclusion in the registry confirm the reliability of Blazar NAC and show that the system is fully suitable for use under import-substitution policies,” Alexander Chernykh, CEO of Blazar, said last year.
Competing for Import-Substitution Projects
Demand for network access control, or NAC, technology is reflected in the number of comparable systems that Russian developers have already brought to market. In 2023, Gazinformservice actively promoted its EFROS DefOps platform with a Network Access Control module. The module offered centralized user identification and access management for network resources.
In late 2024, Axel Pro deployed its AxelNAC system in the infrastructure of automotive holding company Avtodom. The first phase covered two dealerships. It became one of the notable examples of a Russian NAC system being put to practical use in distributed commercial infrastructure.
Growing competition is likely to drive further improvements in Russian NAC systems. Development will most likely focus on expanding support for a broader range of operating systems, network equipment and security tools. Vendors will need to offer comprehensive products, as competition over the next several years is expected to center on genuinely large projects aimed at replacing foreign technology.
