Russia’s Largest Digital Art Gallery Now Hosts 130,000 Works

A fast-growing platform has brought together tens of thousands of Russian artists and is redefining how creativity finds its audience—and protection—online.

In just 100 days, the Russian digital platform 'Khudozhniki/Artists' has become the country’s largest online art gallery, amassing 130,000 works spanning genres from classical painting to digital art. The project launched with support from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives brings together artists from 754 cities and towns. It offers tools for showcasing work, securing copyrights, connecting with galleries, and entering creative competitions.

According to the platform’s creators, building a portfolio is now as easy as one click. Artists can share their digital profiles with curators, gallerists, and peers. A third of all uploaded works are already registered with full copyright protection. The platform also features job listings, educational lectures, and grant opportunities. It regularly hosts contests such as the 'Create in Russia' challenge which has drawn over 2,300 entries.

'Khudozhniki/Artists' collaborates with the Russian Artists’ Union and the Tavrida Art Cluster. It’s also expanding internationally by partnering with creative organizations across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Valeria Brusnikina, the platform’s director, says artists from across the country are eager to join. Registration is open to all and offers access to one of Russia’s most vibrant artistic communities.
