Russian University Builds a Massive Digital Education Ecosystem
A Moscow-based university has launched a full-scale digital platform that unites students, faculty, and administrators into a single system—slashing paperwork and streamlining day-to-day operations.
The Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) has won the national corporate automation contest “1C: Project of the Year” in the category “Education, Culture, Science” for developing its new ecosystem.
The platform integrates a single digital account for students and staff, complete with academic, administrative, and service functions, a mobile app, and automation of key business processes. Among its features: documents can now be signed online with digital signatures.
The system has already shown measurable impact. Processing workloads and filling out assessment documents now takes half the time. Creating class schedules is 25 percent faster, while calculation errors in teaching loads have dropped by 15 percent. Class schedules on the university’s website now update automatically in real time.
