Russia to Showcase Three New Drones at UAE Exhibition
The drones are designed for cargo delivery, search-and-rescue support, and border security tasks.
Russia’s state-owned technology group Rostec is set to unveil its new Lightning line of multipurpose unmanned aerial vehicles at the UMEX and SimTEX 2026 exhibition in the United Arab Emirates. The event will take place in Abu Dhabi from January 20 to January 22.
The Lightning 2 drone is designed to deliver small cargoes and medical supplies, assess situations during emergencies, and support hands-on training for operators. The drone can carry payloads of up to 6 kilograms and has an operating range of nearly 50 kilometers.
Fast and Powerful
The high-speed Lightning P model can reach flight speeds of up to 270 kilometers per hour. It is intended for monitoring, surveillance, and terrain inspection missions.
The Lightning R platform is built for round-the-clock monitoring in a wide range of climate conditions. It is equipped with a video camera featuring 30x hybrid zoom mounted on a gyrostabilized gimbal, allowing for high-quality observation even during maneuvering.
