Rosatom Equips Xudapu Nuclear Plant's Unit 3 Nuclear Island With Control Systems
Xudapu Nuclear Power Plant is being built in China's Liaoning Province under a Russian-designed project.
Spetsializirovannyy Nauchno-Issledovatelskiy Institut Priborostroyeniya JSC, part of Rosatom, has equipped the nuclear island of Unit 3 at Xudapu Nuclear Power Plant with control and instrumentation systems. The facility is being built in China's Liaoning Province under the Russian VVER-1200 reactor design.
The institute's specialists have completed supervised installation of the hardware and software systems that form part of the plant's control and instrumentation systems. The equipment is now undergoing commissioning.
According to Rosatom, the project uses technologies that have been proven over many years for Chinese customers. They provide reliable monitoring of key reactor parameters, equipment diagnostics, reactor protection functions, and fire protection.
The delivery also included equipment for laboratory installation and a full-scope simulator.
