Russia Projects Billions From AI Integration in Nuclear Industry

Rosatom expects to generate up to 4 billion rubles (about $48 million) in economic gains from deploying artificial intelligence across its operations.

Russia’s state corporation Rosatom anticipates up to 4 billion rubles (about $48 million) in benefits from active use of AI in its processes. Currently, the company is running around 180 high-tech projects.

Rosatom’s success is significant not only for the national economy but also for the global tech landscape. It demonstrates how AI can address critical challenges in one of the world’s most high-tech industries, setting new benchmarks for nuclear energy and industrial innovation.

According to Igor Skobelev, CEO of Tsifrum, speaking at the “AI Day in Skolkovo” forum, the current projects already show substantial potential. Another 47 initiatives are planned, expected to deliver an additional 900 million rubles (about $11 million) in economic effect.

Large-scale use of AI is a cornerstone of Rosatom’s digital transformation strategy. The company’s approach highlights how modern IT solutions can be integrated into complex industrial systems to achieve measurable economic results.
