Russia Launches Centralized AI Deployment System

The government-backed AI Development Center unveils its first solutions for public administration and business, aiming to unify the country’s approach to digital transformation

Russia has kicked off an ambitious initiative to integrate artificial intelligence into government operations and the national economy. The AI Development Center, operating under the Russian government, held its first strategic session this week, bringing together business leaders and regional officials to shape a unified framework for digital transformation.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, who oversees the center, announced that about 10 promising AI solutions have already been selected, with several slated for nationwide rollout in the coming months. These include tools for geospatial analytics, automated document processing, and rapid citizen-response systems.

A key priority is fostering knowledge exchange between regions. A federal digital platform—built on the Moscow Region’s “Digital Region” portal—will serve as a centralized catalog of best practices. Proven technologies from Tatarstan, Sakhalin, Nizhny Novgorod, and Moscow will be replicated across the country.

To better address challenges faced by businesses and developers, the government also plans to launch a dedicated feedback service on the “Gosuslugi” public services portal, enabling faster problem-solving and improved collaboration.
