Russian AI-Powered Bionic Prosthetics Go Global

Steplife’s new smart prosthetics offer smoother mobility, easier rehabilitation, and a competitive alternative to Western models.

Russian tech company Steplife, a pioneer in bionic prosthetics, has launched a new product line featuring artificial intelligence and rotational hydraulics. According to the publication Digital Economy, these innovations aim to enhance the quality of life for amputees and reduce the financial burden on healthcare systems.

The new Steplife B7 series is equipped with an AI-powered microcontroller that dynamically adapts to the user's movement. What sets it apart from previous models is a knee module with rotational hydraulics that allows for a smoother, more natural gait. Settings can be customized via a mobile app, simplifying the rehabilitation process for both clinicians and patients.

Steplife has signed a partnership with Chinese medical giant Hunan Yijiang Medical Technology to bring the technology to international markets including China, India, Malaysia, and Brazil.

Steplife CEO Ivan Khudyakov says this expansion will help Russia compete on the global stage with industry leaders such as Ottobock and Ossur. Priced at 1.2 million rubles, the new prosthetic is also more affordable than many Western alternatives.

Russia’s continued push to integrate advanced technologies into healthcare is making high-tech medical support more accessible than ever.
