Russian Developments MAX and Astra Linux Are Building an Independent Digital Ecosystem

Russia’s national messenger MAX has officially received a compatibility certificate with the Astra Linux operating system, strengthening the country’s sovereign digital ecosystem

Certified Compatibility for a Sovereign Stack

Leading Russian IT company Astra Group and the developer of the national MAX messenger — Communication Platform (part of VK Group) — have completed joint testing of their products. The results demonstrated a high level of compatibility, officially confirmed by the “Ready for Astra” certificate.

The document was issued for MAX version 25.10.3, meaning the messenger operates reliably within the Astra Linux 1.8 environment. This ensures that MAX can be safely deployed across infrastructures built on the Russian operating system.

Predictable, Secure Communication

Kirill Sinkov, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Astra Group, emphasized: “Confirming the compatibility of MAX and Astra Linux creates a foundation for a full-fledged sovereign digital ecosystem. We are building an environment where security is paired with convenience. Choosing domestic solutions is becoming the natural path for both businesses and the state.”

Compatibility guarantees customers full functionality on secure, verified Russian platforms. For IT departments, this means predictable service performance, standardized updates and centralized technical support.

The certification of MAX for the Russian software stack strengthens the country’s technological sovereignty. Digital‑communication management becomes more reliable, reinforcing national control over critical IT infrastructure.
